Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position based in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care by following established care plans and supervising ancillary staff. The RN will play a vital role in patient assessments, education, discharge planning, and ensuring safety standards are maintained.

Job Details:

  • Location: Atlantic City, NJ
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift. Valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only). Certification, education requirements, location, and experience (minimum 0 years) meet position standards.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Performs nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, forming the basis of an individualized care plan.
    • Collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and goals.
    • Ensures timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
    • Participates in the patient rehabilitation program and provides direct patient care using the nursing process.
    • Initiates discharge planning and patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
    • Communicates patient status changes effectively to support continuity of care and safety.
    • Provides supervision and direction to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately.
    • Maintains safety in all aspects in alignment with hospital and nursing policies.
    • Demonstrates professionalism in communication and teamwork, contributing to a positive work environment.
    • Assumes charge responsibilities after orientation as requested.
    • Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains current certifications.
