Registered Nurse / Operating Room

Job Summary:
Operating Room Nurse (RN) or Surgical Technologist (CST) position in Presque Isle, Maine. This role involves supporting a busy surgical department with a variety of case types, including general, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, GYN, and orthopedic surgeries. The position requires flexibility for after-hours and on-call cases, with a focus on trauma and emergency procedures. The assignment is scheduled to start on August 24, 2026, and offers a comprehensive orientation period.

Job Details:

• Location: Presque Isle, Maine
• Schedule: Days, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, with on-call responsibilities. Call shifts are from 1500 on Friday until 0630 on Monday, and one weekday shift after 1500.
• Required Qualifications:
  RN with 2 years of recent operating room experience, BLS, ACLS (preferred).
  CST with 2 years of recent operating room experience, BLS, and National Certification (TSC through NCCT or CST through NBSTSA).
• Preferred Qualifications:
  Experience with trauma, ER C-sections, emergency general cases, and after-hours/on-call procedures.
• Support on the Unit: Department supervisor, operating room educator, CRNAs who will run all rooms.
• Technology/Equipment: Cerner electronic medical record system, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing system.
• Orientation: Approximately 2 weeks, dependent on skill level and comfort.
• Additional Information: Scrub color provided. Parking is free. This assignment involves working in a general surgical environment with average of 10-12 scheduled cases daily, including emergent cases. The candidate must have relevant experience with heavy orthopedic trauma cases, C-sections, and on-call trauma scenarios.
