Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) in Austin, Texas. This seasonal contract position is designed for experienced RNs specializing in maternal care at a Level 4 maternal center. The role involves providing high-risk maternal patient care, collaborating with a highly tenured team, and supporting a unit known for its excellence and technological advancements.

Job Details

• Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, graduate from an accredited nursing program, 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, and experience with high-risk maternal patients
• Preferred Qualifications: More than 5 years of experience, experience circulating in operating room and triage settings
• Type of staff: Day shift with one charge nurse, minimum of 2 surgical technologists, 1 unit clerk, and staff RNs to census during shifts
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 and 1:1
• Typical procedures performed: Vaginal and Cesarean section deliveries, tubal ligations, cerclage placement and removal, D and C, C-hyst, PASD cases
• Unit environment: Highly supportive with long-term leadership, undergoing renovation to update all rooms
• Additional information: The unit has standardized order sets, is recognized as America`s Best Maternity Hospital 2023 by Newsweek, and holds a Level 4 Maternal Designation for the State of Texas. The team is motivated, collaborative, and technological advancements include new equipment and a focus on veteran staff retention.
