Job Summary:
Telemedicine Telemetry Nurse in Peoria, Illinois. This position involves providing specialized care to cardiac patients, including patients with myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, COPD, pacemaker/AICD placement, and other cardiac conditions. The role requires clinical expertise in telemetry monitoring, medication titration, and basic nursing skills within an acute care setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/17/2026
- Required Qualifications: Illinois nursing license or confirmation of application process, BLS certification (AHA), minimum of 2 years of RN experience, experience with EKG interpretation, medication titration (e.g., Cardizem, heparin), all basic nursing skills, and ability to read and interpret Phillips telemetry monitors.
- Department: Cardiothoracic
- Bed Count: 70 beds
- Patient Ratios: Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6
- Certifications: BLS (AHA); ACLS recommended
- Duties: Monitoring and troubleshooting telemetry, titrating drips, reading telemetry strips, and managing cardiac patients with various diagnoses such as MI, CHF, and arrhythmias.
- Team Structure: Charge nurses and house supervisors available 24/7; nurse aides/PCTs on duty with ratios of 1:8-9 during days, 1:9-10 during evenings, 1:10-12 during nights.
- Equipment: Vents, Cpap, Bipap, High Flow systems, Phillips telemetry monitors
- Floating: Float to general medical units as needed
- Dress Code: Any color scrubs, avoid children/cartoon prints
- Orientation: Typically one shift or part of one, based on prior experience at an OSF facility
- Shift Times: 0700-1930 and 1900-0730, every other weekend, holiday rotation included
- Holiday Schedule: Days and nights have specified holiday rotations including Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year`s Day and their eves.
- Additional Notes: No call or standby requirement at this time.
