Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
A licensed Healthcare Professional specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) is needed for an overnight assignment in Bismarck, North Dakota. This role involves patient care during delivery, postpartum care for mothers and babies, and gynecological surgical postoperative care. The position requires working nights with some days and weekend shifts, supporting various units including the maternal nursery and neonatal intensive care unit.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Straight nights with some days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years experience in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Gynecology; Certifications required include CPR/BLS, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Valid license to submit.
• Preferred Qualifications: STABLE certification preferred but not required; willingness to float to newborn nursery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
• Additional Information: Expect 36 hours of orientation; 19-bed unit with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 in Labor and Delivery, 1:3 for mother/baby couples, and a combined ratio of 1:5-6 for GYN care. The environment utilizes electronic charting with EPIC and OBIX systems, fetal monitors, suction, oxygen, and vital signs monitors. Dress code is navy blue scrubs or hospital-provided scrubs for Labor & Delivery. The clinician will assist in high-risk patients during delivery, postpartum, and GYN procedures. Assignments include helping hands in the neonatal nursery and NICU, with occasional floating to other units.
• Additional Notes: A 12-hour overnight shift schedule, every other weekend and holiday. The location does not accept local travelers with permanent addresses within 80 miles.
