Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical With Telemetry

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) nurses are needed for night shifts at a healthcare facility in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves caring for patients with neurological conditions, stroke, spine surgery, and neuroscience issues in an acute care setting. The position requires a focus on trauma experience and prior travel nursing background, with a comprehensive orientation and a dedicated neuro unit environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Illinois license or confirmation that application has been initiated; BLS (AHA), NIHSS certifications; 3 years of experience; experience on a neuro unit, trauma experience, prior travel experience (no first-time travelers)
• Duties: Titrate and manage heparin drips based on PTT; trouble-shoot high flow oxygen devices when needed; read telemetry strips from Phillips monitors; participate in patient care with nurse aides/patient care techs, maintaining appropriate patient ratios; adhere to float rotation policies with skills competent to assigned units; cover every other weekend and holiday shifts
• Float: Float rotation may be required, with full team coverage on general units and skill-appropriate assignment during urgent needs
• Additional Information: Unit specific orientation of 2 days including computer and patient care training with an educator and preceptor; no scrub color requirements; tattoos must be covered; no piercings except in ears; scrubs not provided
