Job Summary:
Telemetry Nurse in Peoria, Illinois. This position involves providing specialized care to telemetry patients in an acute care setting. The role requires proficient monitoring, interpretation of telemetry strips, and medication management, with a focus on cardiac patient care.

Job Details:

  • Certifications required: BLS (AHA); ACLS recommended.
  • Education / License / Experience: Illinois registered nurse license, minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Department: Cardio Thoracic with a primary focus on cardiac patient care including MI, CHF, A fib, COPD, pacemaker/AICD placement, and lung surgeries.
  • Common skills include EKG interpretation, medication titration such as Cardizem and heparin, and basic nursing skills.
  • Responsibilities include troubleshooting Cpap and Bipap equipment when necessary and reading telemetry strips on Philips monitors.
  • Staffing includes nurse aides and patient care technicians with appropriate patient ratios.
  • Shifts are scheduled with every other weekend and certain holiday rotations, including Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day.
  • Float to other general medical units may be required.
  • Scrub color is flexible, with no children or cartoon prints allowed.
  • Unit orientation typically covers one shift, depending on prior experience at an OSF facility.
  • This position begins on 08/03/2026.
