Registered Nurse / Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) registered nurse position is available at a healthcare organization in Aurora, Colorado. This is a 13-week traveling assignment with rotating day and night shifts, requiring flexibility in scheduling. The role involves caring for pediatric patients from birth to 21 years with various complex medical conditions, including respiratory, neurological, surgical, and metabolic disorders.

Job Details:

  • Position: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN
  • Location: Aurora, Colorado
  • Shift: 12-hour rotating days and nights (6:45 PM 7:15 AM)
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week
  • Start Date: 08/18/2026
  • Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, with specific start date options from 08/18/2026, 09/08/2026, or 09/22/2026
  • Travel Required: Yes
  • Float Requirement: Yes, eligible to float to all inpatient care areas including critical care and acute care floors, but not to emergency department, operating room, or inpatient psychiatric units
  • Experience: 2+ years in a comparable PICU as staff RN; 3+ years if no previous travel experience
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • BSN or increased staff experience in lieu of minimal travel experience
    • Colorado RN license required
    • Experience caring for patients from birth to 21 years with diagnoses including respiratory support (such as nasal cannula, Trilogy BiPap/CPap, ventilators), chronic childhood diseases, sepsis, traumatic brain injury, diabetic ketoacidosis, seizure disorders, oncology, metabolic disorders, surgical patients (neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedics, general surgery)
    • Equipment proficiency with Trilogy & Drager ventilators, Codman ICP monitors, Medfusion syringe pumps, Baxter large volume IV pumps
    • Required certifications: BLS and PALS; ACLS preferred
  • Additional Qualifications: Prefer at least 2+ years of staff experience and 1 year of travel experience in a teaching facility PICU
  • Comments:
    • Scheduling options include rotating days & nights or straight nights only; no straight day positions available
    • No RTO approved within the first two weeks of the assignment
    • Medical/religious flu vaccine exemption requests are allowed; completed exemption forms must be included in the submission
