Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Department Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Salida, Colorado. This role involves providing direct patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases, supporting maternal and neonatal health. The RN will collaborate with a healthcare team to assess, plan, and implement patient-centered care, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes throughout the maternity care episode.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Current, active nursing license in Colorado; BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications; minimum of an Associate`s Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program; two years of experience in labor and delivery; location requirements for Colorado; preferred PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with emergency procedures and neonatal and maternal assessments, ability to assist physicians with procedures, strong patient education skills
• Additional Information: The RN will independently assess and evaluate labor and neonate patients, collaborate with family and healthcare team members, and assist with emergency situations. Responsibilities include monitoring patient responses, providing breastfeeding education, documenting care, and maintaining a safe, clean environment. The position demands physical activity including lifting up to 50 pounds and requires visual acuity for patient observation. The responsibilities may be redefined or expanded based on organizational needs.
