Registered Nurse / Pediatric Floor

Job Summary:
The pediatric floor registered nurse (RN) position is located in Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves the independent peri-anesthetic management of complex and varied surgical and procedural inpatient/outpatient pediatric populations. This position requires providing care for a diverse case load of surgical and procedural patients in a state-of-the-art pediatric medical and surgical center.
Job Details:
- Location: Madison, WI
- Shift Time: Nights, 12-hour shifts, starting 08/17/2026
- Schedule: Night shifts, 36 hours per week minimum, with flexibility in hours and days
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license, at least 2 years of pediatric post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) experience, Epic electronic charting system experience, BLS and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications, minimum 2 years of acute care experience in the last 3 years, passing Telemetry exam with two attempts at strict criteria, experience in pediatric care, and proficiency in airway assessment, arterial line management, pain management, and pediatric ICU procedures among others.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, community hospital experience, trauma center experience, and specific charting system experience.
- Additional Information: Travelers must pass a Telemetry test prior to start, with specific criteria for passing in adult and pediatric exams. Experience in managing pediatric patients and performing advanced procedures is essential. The role involves floating as needed within the facility and working in a magnet-designated pediatric medical and surgical center that includes a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU.
- Submittal Details: Inpatient RN experience required, two years in the last three years, and failure to pass the Telemetry exam after three attempts will result in cancellation of the assignment.
