Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) nurse position located in Bethel, Alaska. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care across a variety of settings, including post-surgical and behavioral health patients. The nurse will be responsible for conducting initial assessments, re-assessments every 24 hours, and collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The position requires flexibility with schedule and the ability to practice independently within prescribed limits.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts with 12 hours per shift, providing a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Must have completed a nursing program approved by the National League for Nursing (NLN). New graduates are accepted. Must be licensed in good standing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Successful candidates will be required to pass and maintain competencies for this position and complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with pediatric and adult patients, managing behavioral health cases, and active knowledge of medical terminology.
• Additional Information: The candidate must be flexible with work schedules and capable of independent actions within prescribed limits. Clinical skills include administering treatments, interpreting diagnostic tests, providing education to patients and families, and collaborating with healthcare team members. Proficiency in communication, medical terminology, and basic math skills are essential for success in this role.
