Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician in Portland, Oregon. The position involves processing and sterilizing surgical and hospital instruments and equipment, assembling instrument sets and trays, and distributing patient care supplies and equipment. The role supports clinical operations by maintaining sterile processing standards and assisting with environmental and supply needs.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: High School Education or GED (required), Associates or Technical Degree or equivalent related experience (preferred), Sterile Processing Technician certification (preferred).
- Essential Functions: Decontaminates and processes instruments, compiles instrument sets, records counts, sterilizes equipment, prepares instruments for immediate use sterilization when necessary, maintains a clean environment, cleans autoclaves weekly, assists with room turnover, picks supplies and instruments for upcoming cases, performs diagnostic testing on sterilization equipment, evaluates instruments for safety and function, provides services for ancillary departments, records loaner instrument information, maintains biological incubator, evaluates test results, and assists with technical services across various clinical departments.
- Additional Information: Performs daily sterilizer diagnostics, maintains logs, and works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs other duties as assigned to support perioperative and clinical teams.
