Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position based in Dallas, Texas. This role involves providing specialized patient care on a 24-bed unit with a focus on post-cardiac surgery and vascular procedures. Candidates will be responsible for managing cardiac drips, bedside procedures, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team during night shifts.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS and ACLS certifications; healthcare professional with a minimum of 0 years of experience; located within commuting distance to Dallas, TX
  • Preferred Qualifications: Six months experience in a Progressive Care Unit; effective communication skills between patients and healthcare team; familiarity with cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, and Cardizem
  • Additional Information: Responsibilities include managing post-operative patients following CABG, AVR/MVR, aortic root repairs, LVAD, VATS, and vascular surgeries. Procedures performed on the unit include bedside paracentesis, thoracentesis, and PICC insertions. The ideal candidate is caring and a great team player. The dress code is royal blue scrubs. Weekend and on-call shifts are part of the schedule, totaling four weekends within a four-week cycle.
