Registered Nurse / Emergency Room

Job Summary:
Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Lynchburg, Virginia. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a level 2 trauma center. The assignment is scheduled for nights, with shifts lasting 12 hours, and requires working every other weekend. Orientation sessions are biweekly, beginning on 8/10 and 8/24, with a target start date of 08/24/2026. Local candidates within 60 miles are not accepted for this role.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Three years of Emergency Department (ED) experience in a similar size ED and trauma level 2 or 1 setting; active VA or Compact Nursing license at time of submission; certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); trauma certification such as ATCN, TNCC, or ATLC; Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience highly preferred.
• Additional Information: Orientation sessions are scheduled on Mondays every other week. This assignment begins with orientations on 8/10 and 8/24, with a planned start date of 08/24/2026. The healthcare provider reserves the right to cancel shifts up to 36 hours prior due to census fluctuations. All Requests for Time Off (RTO) must be included in the initial packet at submission. Local candidates within 60 miles are not accepted. The organization requires active VA or Compact licenses at the time of submission. Approved COVID-19 and influenza vaccine declinations are accepted.
