Job Summary:
The healthcare professional specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Washington, D.C., is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care in a cardiac-focused stepdown environment. The role involves managing patients with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, and vascular conditions, primarily on a 12-hour day shift schedule.

Job Details:

  • Location: Washington, D.C.
  • Schedule: Days; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state or district of practice; BSN degreehighly desired; minimum of 2 years RN experience, including cardiac telemetry experience; current NIHSS, BLS, and ACLS certifications; Cerner experience required; graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
  • Preferred Qualifications: BSN degree highly desired
  • Additional Information: The facility is a 48-bed cardiac stepdown unit, with additional pulmonary and cardiac surgery beds (not required to serve). The unit frequently manages medication infusions such as Heparin, Milrinone, Lasix, and Bumex, and diagnoses including CHF, NSTEMI, arrhythmias, and vascular surgery cases. Candidates must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility and be able to commit to a 3 x 12-hour day shift schedule.
