Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
The intensive care unit (ICU) registered nurse position is located in Morristown, New Jersey. This role involves providing high-acuity patient care within a specialized surgical step-down unit. The nurse will perform comprehensive assessments, deliver expert clinical care, and ensure patient safety and comfort. The position demands a professional approach to documentation, patient education, and team collaboration.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, totaling 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Must have at least 1 year of ICU experience. Education should be from an accredited school of nursing, with a preference for candidates holding an Associates or Bachelor`s Degree.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with surgical patients, excellent assessment and documentation skills, and knowledge of operative procedures and equipment encountered in surgical ICU settings.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The nurse will assess and monitor surgical patients, support pre-admission testing processes, and provide patient education tailored to surgical procedures and anesthesia. Responsibilities include ensuring safety protocols, maintaining accurate documentation, and delivering patient-centered care throughout the perioperative continuum.
