Registered Nurse / Step Down Unit

Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Nurse position located in Prescott, Arizona. This role involves providing care within a specialized step-down setting that includes post-cardiac, post-procedural, and geriatric patient populations. The position requires adherence to facility protocols and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver quality patient care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours minimum per week, with a start date of 08/10/2026. The schedule includes every other weekend and first to float, with shifts scheduled from days to nights as needed.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS and BLS certifications, minimum of 2 years of experience in a step-down or similar acute care setting, experience with post-cardiac patients, and proficiency managing titratable drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Geriatric and ortho patient populations, familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems such as Cerner, and ability to interpret cardiac strips.
  • Additional Information: Clinicians must pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing the contract. The unit utilizes nurse aids and a team-based approach. ICU-level equipment such as BiPAP and heated high-flow devices are available, with tele monitoring in place. The unit employs a self-scheduling system, with schedules released six weeks in advance. No call or standby responsibilities are required.
