Registered Nurse / Step Down Unit

Job Summary:
A dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit care is needed in a healthcare facility located in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. This role involves providing high-quality patient care during night shifts in a 28-bed unit with private rooms. The RN will be integral in managing complex cardiac cases, including dysrhythmias, cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs), and other acute conditions, with the support of a multidisciplinary team.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, unexpired drivers license, at least 2 years of experience in a similar setting, and certifications including ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Specific responsibilities include titrating intravenous drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin, interpreting cardiac strips, and managing ventilator support with Bipap, Cpap, and High Flow devices.
• The role requires competence with EMR systems, currently Cerner and EPIC, and the ability to assist with patient monitoring at the hospitals central monitor station.
• Nurses may be assigned to float to ICU areas to support staffing needs and will receive floor-specific orientation with a preceptor for two shifts.
• Weekend rotations and holiday work are scheduled, with every other holiday included in a staff rotation.
• Uniform: Navy blue scrubs and jackets, if worn.
• Additional operational notes include a house in-house Hospitalist team 24/7 and ICU intensivist coverage every day from 7 AM to 7 PM.
• This position requires willingness to wait for license submission and includes a flexible scheduling environment established by the department leadership.
