Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit

Job Summary:
This Progressing Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse (RN) position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. The RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care by following established nursing care plans. This role includes supervising and collaborating with licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and other healthcare team members to support patient recovery and safety.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to first shift, valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY), minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience, degree in nursing or equivalent, active nursing license in Virginia, and no minimum years of experience listed are required.
• Preferred Qualifications: None listed.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Performs initial nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for patient care and education, maintains accurate documentation, and participates in discharge planning and patient teaching. Provides supervision to ancillary staff, adheres to safety protocols for patient and personal safety, and contributes to a positive team environment. Assumes charge responsibilities after orientation and actively pursues professional development.
