Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor

Job Summary:
Rehabilitation Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor located in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This position involves providing care for a diverse adult patient population with diagnoses such as stroke, trauma, orthopedics, and neuro disabilities, averaging 10-14 days per stay. The role requires assisting with acuity-specific patient care during night shifts, following a 12-hour schedule with a focus on team collaboration and patient safety.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM 7:00 AM), with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: BLS (AHA); minimum of 1 year of clinical experience; licensure to submit; local candidates living within 80 miles of the facility.
- Preferred Qualifications: Rehab experience; previous travel experience preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, to be floated to similar medical-surgical or tele units.
- Additional Information:
- Unit has 10 private patient rooms, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5.
- Common diagnoses include stroke, trauma, neuro, orthopedic, and various disabilities.
- Nurse assists with IV fluids, antibiotics, and Heparin drips, but does not titrate drips.
- RN staff read strips and attend team conferences daily around 11 a.m. to noon.
- Charge nurses may take patient assignments, with travel nurses also eligible to serve as charge.
- CNAs provide support during day and evening shifts; no CNA overnight.
- PT, OT, SLP involved in rehabilitation; respiratory therapists manage inhalers and CPAP/BiPAP.
- Any color scrubs acceptable; must be clean and professional.
- Orientation includes two 12-hour shifts; clinicians must have prior work experience with the facility, ending at least six months before submission if previously employed there.
- All clinicians are required to clock in and out at the facility.
- No call or standby required; every other weekend and holiday work is scheduled.
