Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse position is located in Carroll, Iowa. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in a dedicated ICU setting. The position requires a dedicated professional capable of handling complex patient needs and adapting to the dynamic hospital environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts with a start time of 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association); minimum 1 year of ICU experience, all candidates must be licensed to practice.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in intensive care nursing and flexibility with floating to related units.
• Additional Information: The ICU unit has a maximum capacity of 6 beds set up for critical care patients. Nurses are expected to monitor telemetry and titrate drips such as Cardizem, insulin, and norepinephrine. Charge nurses oversee staffing and patient care, with no assigned patient caseload, and rotate with other staff members to cover breaks and emergencies. The unit emphasizes quality projects and initiatives, requires scrubs in grey, black, pink, or white, and involves on-site orientation for new staff. Candidates must be adaptable to occasional floating to MedSurg Patient side and other departments as needed.
