Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Description

Job Summary:
Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Meridian, Idaho. This role involves providing care on a 42-bed Medical Surgical unit, with a focus on medical and behavioral health patients. The nurse may precept new travelers and work with a variety of diagnostic and treatment interventions, including tele-interpretation and respiratory equipment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Meridian, Idaho
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Possible shifts on weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification; at least 2 years of MedSurg experience; EPIC electronic health record system experience; able to read and interpret tele-monitoring strips; willing to precept new travelers; must have a valid license to submit.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with heparin, PCA, and morphine drips; ability to titrate drips is not required.
  • Additional Information: The unit manages respiratory equipment including CPAP and BiPAP devices, with tele monitor techs supporting virtual monitoring. RNs are expected to interpret their own tele strips. Orientation includes 3 days of general orientation, online modules, and 2 shifts with a preceptor. Floating to other MedSurg units or like units in nearby facilities may be required, with float rotation to Boise or Nampa Medical Centers. The assigned dress code is any clean, professional attire.
