Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit at an acute care facility in Omaha, Nebraska. This position involves providing compassionate and high-quality patient care to adult oncology and trauma patient populations on a 12-hour night shift. The role offers opportunities for experienced nurses to demonstrate clinical expertise, manage titratable drips, and work within a dynamic team environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active nursing license, minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, BLS (AHA) certification, ACLS certification, and charge nurse experience preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Oncology experience is preferred but not required; strong PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience without oncology background is acceptable.
- Float: Float to other medical/surgical and PCU units may be required.
- Orientation: Two days of unit-specific orientation provided.
- Clinical Skills & Equipment: Experience managing insulin and Cardizem drips, familiarity with high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, ventilators; EMR system Epic; use of Alaris intravenous pumps; and availability of Lyko lifts in even-numbered rooms.
- Support Staff: Includes nursing assistants, charge nurse, PT/OT, case manager, social worker, educator, and dietitian.
- Patient Care Focus: Hourly rounds and bedside shift reports aimed at enhancing patient experience, with a high regard for teamwork, diversity, and respectful patient interactions.
