Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse position is based in a healthcare facility in Anchorage, Alaska. This role involves providing specialized critical care to patients within the ICU, following facility protocols and standards. The position is scheduled for night shifts, with an emphasis on managing complex and critically ill patients in a high-acuity environment.
Job Details:
- Location: Anchorage, Alaska
- Schedule: Nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, working a 12-hour shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Alaska RN license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, experience with EPIC electronic medical record system, ability to independently manage intubated patients and titrate pressors, at least one year of experience recovering open heart surgeries (preferred)
- Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience recovering open heart surgeries 12-hour post-op, experience with procedures such as intubation, art line insertion, chest tube insertion, and central line insertion
- Additional Information: The position involves working in a unit with 14 beds staffed by 8 RNs per shift. Typical procedures include intubation, arterial line insertion, chest tube placement, and central line insertion. Floating to other departments such as CVSU, Ortho, Rehab, or SPCU may be required if the unit is overstaffed, in accordance with union contract. The dress code is navy blue scrubs.
