Registered Nurse / Intermediate Care Unit

Job Summary:
The healthcare professional, specializing in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), will provide patient care in a hospital setting located in Reston, Virginia. The position involves working on night shifts, with responsibilities including monitoring patients requiring occasional tracheostomy or vent management, chest tube care, and trauma patient support. The role requires the ability to adapt to unit-specific protocols and technology.

Job Details:

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Must have 1-2 years of hospital experience, VA license or Compact license at submission, BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/10/2026.
• Required Qualifications: 2 years of hospital experience, VA license or Compact license, BLS and ACLS certifications, minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trach/vent management, chest tubes, trauma patients, pulmonary toileting, and hospital-specific skills.
• Additional Information: The unit has 20 beds with patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5. Staff may float within units following same ratio policies. The environment features advanced equipment such as Baxter pumps, SCDs, telemetry, 12-lead EKG, and high-flow oxygen devices.
