Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nurse position is located in Asheville, North Carolina. This role involves providing specialized critical care for neurology patients, including post-thrombectomy and TPA administration cases, within a 12-bed ICU unit. The position requires participating in patient care routines, operating advanced equipment, and adhering to unit policies to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week, totaling 12-hour shifts.
• Certifications and Education Requirements: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), ICU experience, and at least 3 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Neurology experience, particularly caring for patients post thrombectomy and TPA, post-neurosurgery.
• Responsibilities include care for neurological post-procedure patients, operating bedside EVDs, CRRT, and A-line monitoring, and following unit-specific policies and guidelines.
• Staffing includes unit secretaries and technicians, with a requirement of six weekend shifts per period.
• The unit employs Cerner documentation systems and Baxter pumps and has a policy allowing travelers to float first to other ICU units or step-down units.
• The team values candidates with experience in neurology critical care and the ability to adapt to advanced equipment and procedures on the unit.
