Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical With Telemetry

Job Summary
The organization is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) at a community hospital located in Lee`s Summit, Missouri. The position involves providing patient care on a specialized telemetry unit, supporting patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses, and monitoring cardiac rhythms. The role offers a 12-hour night shift schedule, with a contractual commitment of 13 weeks, characteristic patient ratios, and required certifications.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Missouri nursing license, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent, at least 1 year of recent Medical Surgical with Telemetry experience, BLS certification, NIHSS certification, and experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac drips.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience charting with EPIC electronic health records, prior work in community hospital settings, and experience with post-cath patient care.
• Float: Regular floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected. Float rotation may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed.
• Additional Information: This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients, including post-surgical, cardiac, and sepsis cases. The facility has 240 staffed beds, with specialized support services such as respiratory care, pharmacy, imaging, and more. Shifts include weekends, with a total of eight weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. RTO restrictions limit time off to no more than 7 days, and current license status is a requirement.
