Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MS) on a night shift in a healthcare facility located in West Virginia. This position involves providing care for patients undergoing elective surgeries such as hip, knee, and shoulder procedures, as well as managing patients with fractures, neuro-surgeries, and general MedSurg cases. The role includes collaborating with a team to deliver high-quality patient care across a unit with private rooms and a patient ratio of 1 to 6.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts are scheduled as nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with a half-hour lunch break.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; BLS (American Heart Association) certification; a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with orthopedic patients and PCA pumps; familiarity with EPIC electronic charting system.
• Float: Float rotation may be required; travel nurses may be floated to other MedSurg units or telemetry as needed within skillset.
• Additional Information: All submittals must include an unexpired copy of the candidates driver`s license. The orientation includes one day of EPIC training followed by a day on the floor with a preceptor, then solo practice. The unit has a charge nurse available 24/7, and nurse aides are utilized with a typical staffing goal of four patient care techs.
