Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) in Scranton, Pennsylvania. This role involves providing direct nursing care for general medical patients as well as surgical patients, including short stay procedures, orthopaedic and stroke patients. The position requires adaptability to float to other units as needed, and offers an opportunity to work in a busy medical-surgical setting with a variety of patient needs.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, every other weekend and every other holiday
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications, 1+ years of Med Surg experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EKG, IV insertion, medication administration, Foley insertion, vital signs, patient assessment documentation, RSI assistance, point-of-care testing (blood glucose)
• Responsibilities: Conducting assessments, medication administration, Foley insertions, vital sign monitoring, documentation, assisting with rapid sequence intubation, point-of-care testing, and providing bedside care to medical, surgical, orthopaedic, and stroke patients, including those in remote telemetry monitoring.
• Additional Information: This is a travel nursing assignment starting on 08/10/2026 for approximately 13 weeks. No call required. Blocked scheduling may be requested. The unit has 30 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6. Scrub colors include navy blue and white. The EMR system used is Cerner.
