Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position is available at a healthcare facility located in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care for patients with cardiac and medical diagnoses in a 30-bed unit. The position requires delivering compassionate patient care across a variety of clinical procedures and supporting a collaborative healthcare environment.

Job Details:

• Location: Louisville, Kentucky
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). 1 year of experience preferred, but recent graduates are welcome to apply.
• Patient Population: Patients with chest pain, cardiac diagnoses, percutaneous coronary interventions, and general medical conditions.
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:5, occasionally 1:6.
• Skills Required: IV starts, tube management (chest tubes, Jackson-Pratt drains, hemovac), oral care, dressing changes, wound care, drips, CIWA and COWS assessment.
• Support Team: Patient Care Assistants (PCA), HUCs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, respiratory therapists available 24/7, hospitalist support available 24/7.
• Technology/Equipment: Cerner Electronic Medical Records system, Plum 360 infusion pump, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips monitors.
• Orientation: One shift of orientation on the unit.
• Additional Notes: Scrub color is galaxy blue. Parking is free.
• Float: Float rotation may be required within scope of practice and units of mixed acuity.
