Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse Spokane, Washington. This position involves working in a high-acuity adult emergency department that serves as a regional referral center for trauma, cardiac, and stroke cases. The role requires adaptable clinical skills across multiple units within the facility, with a focus on trauma, stroke, and cardiac care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Washington (WA) or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license, minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience, experience with patient ratios of 1 RN to 4 patients, proficiency with Epic charting system, certifications including ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior trauma level II experience, charting experience with Epic, community hospital experience, trauma level I experience is preferred
  • Float: Clinician may be required to float between units, including ED holding
  • Additional Information:
    • This facility is a short-term acute care center with 629 staffed beds, designated as a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
    • The clinical environment is high acuity, supporting adult patients aged 18 and older, with trauma patients aged 15 and older.
    • The ED handles approximately 175 visits daily and is equipped with Level I Rapid Infuser, Zoll and Phillips defibrillators, and Phillips monitors.
    • Special procedures include STEMI care directed to the cath lab, stroke care to IRT, trauma care to definitive care (OR or ICU), and work in ED holding.
    • Staffing includes interdisciplinary support such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.
    • The assignment begins on 08/24/2026, with a deadline for compliance documentation on the Monday prior to start date.
    • Candidates must have previous experience in emergency or trauma settings, and references covering at least 1 year within the past 3 years are required.
