Registered Nurse / Emergency Room

Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse - IRON MOUNTAIN, Michigan. This position involves providing critical nursing care in a Level 4 Trauma Centers emergency department. The role requires delivering quality patient care during night shifts in a fast-paced environment, handling variable diagnoses including trauma, STEMI, strokes, and other emergency cases.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts (12 hours) with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts rotate with variable start times including 7, 10, 12, and 3.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Michigan nursing license; ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course); minimum of 2 years of emergency department experience; flexible to duos and first-time travelers.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a Level 4 trauma setting; comfort with variable drips and emergency procedures.
• Additional Information:
  • Must note if the clinician has previously worked for Marshfield; previous employment must have ended at least 6 months prior to submission.
  • Clinicians are required to clock in and out at the facility.
  • The department treats approximately 40-60 patients daily, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 during day and 2 RN until 7 a.m. at night.
  • The ER is equipped with 2 trauma bays, designated Fast Track, triage and holding areas, and 24/7 in-house ED physicians.
  • Team roles include nurses, nurse aids, EMTs, paramedics, and phlebotomists, with 24/7 phlebotomy and in-house RT (respiratory therapy) support.
  • The environment emphasizes professional attire in solid colors, with comprehensive orientation including computer-based training and department-specific policies.
