Registered Nurse / Emergency Room

Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse located in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The position involves providing emergency nursing care in a fast-paced environment with a patient census that averages 160 to 180 patients daily. The role requires working 12-hour day shifts, with minimal time off scheduled during critical electronic health record updating periods.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour days, approximately 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Illinois nursing license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, TNCC, NIHSS certifications, with 3-5 years of experience in emergency nursing
• Preferred Qualifications: Electronic Critical Care Nursing (ECRN) certification, experience with Epic updating; minimal time off in July and no time off in August during go-live period
• Float: Float rotation may be required (not explicitly specified)
• Additional Information: The facility has 44 rooms with approximately 10 beds per nursing team. It handles a high volume of stroke patients among other critical cases, serving a diverse patient population including many from local nursing homes. The staff is supported geographically to enable comprehensive care, with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:6 in triage. On-call duties are as needed; holiday requirements may also vary. Orientation includes 12 hours of training, with additional non-billable hours.
