Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular

Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU CV) registered nurse position is located in Bemidji, Minnesota. This role involves providing specialized care to cardiac patients, with a focus on critical care procedures, including responding to code blue calls, managing vents and Bipaps, and monitoring cardiac status. The position requires adaptability to rotate through various critical care units and is suited for experienced ICU RNs seeking a dedicated and dynamic environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with varied hours including every third weekend; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Minnesota State Registered Nurse (RN) license, minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience, including 2-3 years of cardiac experience, willingness to float to other critical units such as Telemetry and Emergency Room, and EPIC electronic medical record system experience or equivalent.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Pyxis medication system, familiarity with other electronic medical record systems if EPIC is not used, and possibly previous employment with the healthcare organization.
• Additional Information: The unit has 16 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:5. Orientation programs include 12 to 24 hours per unit, with badge-in/out procedures required. Clinicians must ensure their licensure and certifications are current, and prior employment with the organization must be at least six months prior to submitting application. The facility operates at a Level 3 Trauma designation and follows specific charting protocols using EPIC.
