Job Summary:
The operating room open heart specialty is located in Anchorage, Alaska. This position involves providing skilled perioperative care within a cardiac surgical environment. The role requires coordination with surgical teams and adherence to facility protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 4x10 Days (40 hours per week) from 08/24/2026
- Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS certifications; Alaska RN license or pending license with strong preference for in-hand license; 1 year of experience in operating room open heart procedures; experience with CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) cases including atrial septal defect repair, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), MAZE procedure, mitral valve replacement, TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement); skills in infection control, laser safety, specimen handling/labeling, universal protocol, wound management; proficiency with Epic (charting system); ability to float within scope to meet facility needs; open to accommodating block schedule; minimum of 1 year experience in the specialty is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trauma level II facilities is acceptable.
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, starting on 08/24/2026
- Additional Information: Candidate must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. Candidates must have a valid state license (pending licenses accepted with a 10-12 week processing time). References covering 1 year (or 6 months for CNAs) within the last 3 years are required. Travel compliance and RTO restrictions apply, with a minimum of 50 miles from the facility. Housing options should be explored locally, as options may be limited. Modules are non-billable and must be completed pre-start and annually.
