Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse working at a healthcare facility in Ellsworth, Maine. This role involves providing comprehensive care across all phases of labor and postpartum, managing well and high-risk infants, and collaborating within a unit that supports a low volume of deliveries. The position requires experience with labor, postpartum, neonatal care, and obstetric procedures.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications; current license to practice in Maine; minimum of 2 years of experience in labor, delivery, and postpartum care; ability to provide neonatal care for well and high-risk babies; experience with all phases of labor and postpartum care including epidural, intrathecal spinal analgesia, shoulder dystocia, and neonatal interventions.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with intrauterine procedures, neonatal stabilization, and obstetric emergencies such as postpartum hemorrhage and pre-eclampsia.
• Additional Information: The role involves working in a Level III Nursery with a low volume of approximately 200 deliveries annually. The position supports a rooming-in model with no dedicated nursery RN, with patient ratios aligning with AWHONN guidelines. The unit is staffed with at least two nurses overnight, with available OB and support staff. Orientation includes general hospital and unit-specific training. The facility uses Cerner electronic medical record system. Floating may be required to Medical/Surgical or Emergency Department areas for task support only.
• Other notes: Scrub color is flexible, provided scrubs are professional. Parking is free.
