Job Summary:
A Surgical Technician (Operating Room Technician) position is available in Redwood City, California. This role involves assisting with orthopedic, neuro, spinal, cardiovascular, gynecological, urological, and ENT surgeries in an acute care setting. The position requires providing support in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient safety and procedural efficiency.
Job Details:
- Shift: Days, 10 hours shift times vary between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., with one shift per week and every fourth weekend call. No evening or weekend shifts beyond call are scheduled.
- Certifications: BLS Certification, COVID Vaccine Certification.
- Education and Experience: Minimum two years of OR experience.
- Schedule: 10 hours per day, with at least 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or equivalent, valid license if applicable, and a minimum of 2 years OR experience. Experience with Cerner Surginet EMR preferred.
- Additional Information:
- Main OR with 4 beds and an adjacent pavilion with 8 beds.
- Ratios of 1:1 nurse to patient; scrub experience a plus but not required.
- Critical patients require direct ICU transfer post-operation.
- No float requirement.
- Orientation includes one week of paperwork and one week paired with a preceptor.
- Case types include orthopedic, neuro, spinal, cardiovascular, gynecological, urological, and ENT surgeries, with approximately 15-25 cases daily.
- Anesthesia provided solely by anesthesiologists.
