Operating Room Tech / Certified Operating Room Tech

Job Summary:
Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician in Jackson, Michigan. This position involves supporting surgical procedures by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment under the supervision of registered nursing staff and surgical team members. The role requires understanding of surgical procedures, anticipating team needs, and providing patient care support to ensure safety and comfort. The technician responds to emergent situations following established protocols and collaborates with the surgical care team to facilitate smooth operations.

Job Details:

• Shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 am 7:30 pm, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Schedule: 13-week contract with potential extension
• Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent, minimum of 1 year surgical technician (Surgical Technology ST) experience, BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification, previous travel experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Graduate of CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology program (not required)
• Skills: Experience in sterile "CLEAN ROOM" environment, ability to coordinate supplies and assist in surgical procedures, responder to emergent situations, patient transport, and preoperative preparation
