Medical Surgical Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Floor in Wausau, WI. Job Details

• Location: Wausau, WI
• Shift: Days, 12 hours, 7:00 AM 7:30 PM
• Start Date: 08/10/2026
• Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Schedule: 12-hour days
• Required Qualifications: WI Registered Nurse License, BLS certification (American Heart Association or ARC), minimum of 2 years of experience, trauma level II experience highly preferred, EPIC charting experience, associate degree or certificate; bachelor`s degree preferred
• Unit Information: Medical Surgical Floor handling adult patients with common diagnoses such as respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological, gastrointestinal, diabetic, renal, infectious disease processes, and acute alcohol withdrawal. Typical patient ratios are 1:4-5 during the day shift and 1:6-7 during nights.
• Preferred Qualifications: Resilient, adaptable, capable of independent management, collaborative, positive attitude, flexibility with shift changes, ability to manage tasks timely, and willingness to ask questions.
• Additional Information: Float to all inpatient units as needed. On call/back requirements include low census hours in hour increments. During flu season, travelers declining vaccinations must wear masks at all times.
