Registered Nurse / Emergency Room

Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position located in Garden City, Kansas. This role involves providing critical care in a fast-paced ER setting, with responsibilities including managing common diagnoses such as abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, and stroke. The position requires float coverage within Region 4, based around Garden City, with work schedule consisting of day shifts.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour days, every other weekend, with scheduled days off during weekdays
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 34.5 hours
• Start Date: 08/03/2026
• Required Qualifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, TNCC; 2+ years of experience; Kansas state license needed
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing common ER medications and drips; familiarity with trauma level care and stroke protocols
• Float: Float within Region 4 (Based around Garden City, KS). The traveler must obtain housing that makes region-wide floating feasible. First float assignment will be communicated on or before the start date.
• Orientation: 2-3 days of unit and region-specific orientation.
• Additional Information: Emergency Department staff work in a Trauma Level STEMI Receiving Stroke Center with variable patient volumes, averaging 6-49 patients daily. Nurses work alongside charge nurses, house supervisors, and support staff, including techs, nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics. RN staff may be required to read and interpret telemonitor strips and perform point-of-care lab testing.

• Charting System: EPIC.
