Job Description

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position available in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The role involves providing competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards within a hospital setting. The Clinical Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager or Director and is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role requires participation in interdisciplinary collaboration, patient education, and ensuring safety and quality in patient care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of Nursing; Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC); one (1) year of nursing experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Additional Skills: Complex problem-solving, cost-effective care, communication systems, interdisciplinary collaboration, healthcare standards compliance, discharge planning, patient education, safety management.
  • Position Responsibilities: Utilize healthcare organization and nursing standards to deliver patient care, perform bedside point of care testing, prioritize patient needs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and participate in performance improvement activities. Responsibilities may include precepting and assuming charge nurse roles.
