Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position available in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This role involves providing competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting. The nurse will coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, with responsibilities including patient assessment, care planning, and education, while participating in multidisciplinary teamwork.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school of Nursing; licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA or ARC; one (1) year of nursing experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Additional Information: The role requires the skills to perform bedside point of care testing, prioritize tasks for patients with complex problems, and utilize healthcare organization and nursing standards and policies. The RN may assume charge responsibilities or precept staff nearly every shift, with a focus on patient safety, effective communication, and clinical excellence.
