Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a registered nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join the team at a healthcare facility located in Florence, Alabama. The assignment involves providing specialized care in the Labor and Delivery Department with a focus on postpartum and fetal monitoring. This position offers a full-time schedule, with guaranteed hours and required clinical expertise.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7 p.m. 7 a.m.) with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support-Obstetric (ALS-OB), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), Basic Life Support (BLS); minimum of 3 years clinical experience in Labor and Delivery; valid license; ability to start within 7-10 days from offer acceptance.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with fetal monitoring and assessment, emergency response, postpartum care, and time management skills.
• Additional Information: Unit has 9 beds with patient ratios of 1:1; requires strong communication skills, empathy, adaptability, and attention to detail. Equipment includes electronic health record systems such as Centricity and Meditech.
• Notes: Weekly orientation on Mondays; candidates must be able to start within 7-10 days; unit provides a fast-paced environment managing normal spontaneous labor, preterm labor, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, placenta previa, placental abruption, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, and postpartum hemorrhage.
