Registered Nurse / Psychiatric Unit

Job Summary:
Travel Psychiatric Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Moberly, Missouri. This role involves providing behavioral health evaluations, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care for patients in an acute care hospital setting. The nurse will assist physicians, perform patient tests, administer medications, and promote patient independence through education and care planning.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 6:45 p.m. 7:15 a.m., minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Must have at least 1 year of experience, current BLS certification, and de-escalation certification (SAMA or CPI). Previous experience in gero psychiatric units and recent (within last year) senior behavioral health experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MedHost electronic medical record system and ability to train in de-escalation techniques if not already certified.
• Additional Information: Provides behavioral health evaluation of assigned patients and plans, implements, and documents nursing care. Offers assistance to nursing peers as needed and supports physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs patient tests, administers medications within the scope of practice for registered nurses, and teaches patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Familiar with standard nursing practices and procedures.
