Registered Nurse / Emergency Room

Job Summary
Emergency Room Nurse in Tacoma, Washington this position involves providing high-quality care in a Level II Trauma Center with a busy ED averaging 140-150 patients per day. The role includes managing a diverse patient population from pediatrics to geriatrics, with a focus on high-acuity cases such as trauma, sepsis, stroke, and mental health issues. The position offers a night shift schedule with every other weekend rotation and requires prior ER experience.

Job Details

• Location: 315 Martin Luther King Jr Way, Tacoma, WA 98405
• Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shift, 36 hours per week, starting 08/24/2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB certifications; strong ER experience with at least 1 year in emergency department settings; experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, blood administration, and procedural sedation; ability to work in a high-acuity environment.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a Level II Trauma Center; Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) proficiency; telemetry monitoring skills; ability to float to other ER units as needed.
• Additional Information: Orientation includes badge and Epic training, with a 12-hour preceptor shift on the first day. Support staff includes ER techs, charge nurses, resource/float nurses, security, and pharmacy services available 24/7. Charting is done via the Epic system; support equipment includes Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems.
