Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse Alexandria, LA. This full-time night shift position involves providing high-quality nursing care in a med-surg setting focused on postsurgical patients, including orthopedics, general surgery, and neuro populations. The role requires practicing independently while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Experience in electronic medical records systems, such as EPIC, is considered an advantage.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing; BLS certification from AHA; RN License in state of employment or a compact license; minimum 1 year of nursing experience in a related specialty or similar clinical setting
• Responsibilities: Deliver routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients; monitor treatments and medications, document patient history and care, and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers; make appropriate clinical judgments and delegate tasks as necessary to support patient care
• Preferred Qualifications: EPIC electronic health record experience
• Additional Information: The position involves caring for postsurgical and neuro patient populations with a focus on quality, safety, and compliance with clinical protocols
