Job Summary:
The area is seeking a Surgical Technician specializing in Operating Room procedures for a healthcare organization located in Dickinson, North Dakota. This role involves working in a busy surgical environment with a focus on orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, and general surgeries. The technician will assist during various surgical cases, ensuring proper operative protocols are followed, and support the surgical team throughout shifts scheduled to start on July 20, 2026.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 8 hours, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Shifts are typically scheduled Monday through Thursday from 0600 to 1530 or 0700 to 1630, subject to change with notice. Call shifts are required, with 1-2 per week, including at least one weekend per month (Friday 0700 to Monday 0700).
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS Certification, UAP; minimum of 1 year of experience working in surgical settings; certification as a Surgical Technician or Operating Room Technician; licensure as required by the state of North Dakota.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with total joints, cesarean sections, and experience with Mako robotic technology is advantageous. Knowledge of OR protocols in orthopedics, obstetrics, and general surgeries is preferred.
  • Additional Information: No prior float requirements unless prior training has been completed in other areas. Candidates must adhere to scrub dress code; provided scrubs are required. Unit accommodates adult, pediatric, geriatric, and obstetric patients, with common cases including total joints, cesarean sections, and laparoscopic procedures. Position is located within a facility that services acute care needs and maintains Trauma Level CAH designation.
  • Other Notes: RTO must be requested upfront, with up to 7 days off allowed during a 13-week contract. The healthcare organization can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for shorter assignments. Candidates cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the healthcare provider`s network, including affiliated organizations.
