Registered Nurse / Operating Room

Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse located in Falls Church, Virginia. This position involves providing perioperative care during surgical procedures in a high-acuity environment, primarily covering night shifts with weekend and holiday requirements. The role demands prior experience in trauma and complex surgical cases, as well as proficiency in Epic electronic medical records systems.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights; 12 hours per shift
• Hours per week: Minimum of 36 hours
• Start date: 08/03/2026
• Required Qualifications: Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification, scrub and circulate experience preferred, two years of experience in a Level 1 trauma setting required, navigation of neuro, trauma, pediatric, and transplant cases preferred, travel experience of at least 1-2 assignments, ability to work weekends (one day, Saturday or Sunday, avoiding both), holiday coverage (at least one holiday), proficiency with Epic EMR, involvement in approximately 60-80 cases per day, clinical support in emergency situations, and a valid license in Virginia or the ability to obtain one.
• Preferred Qualifications: Neonate and pediatric experience, trauma experience.
• Schedule: Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM; weekend shifts (usually 2-3 per 6-week period); on-call duties 3X per week; holiday coverage as needed.
• Additional Information: Service lines include orthopedics (including total joints), adult and pediatric general surgery, robotics, organ transplants (kidney), ENT, oral/maxillofacial, vascular/thoracic, urology, and pediatrics. Night and weekend support across various ORs, with floating to other ORs for emergencies, is expected. Scrubs are provided.
