Job Summary:
Emergency Room Holding Area Nurse in CENTRAL CITY, Nebraska. This position involves providing specialized care in the emergency holding area, with responsibilities focused on patient monitoring, assessment, and coordination during initial treatment phases. The role requires collaboration with the emergency department team to ensure efficient patient flow and safety.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in the state of Nebraska or a valid compact license, BLS (American Heart Association, ARC, or Military Training Network), ACLS (American Heart Association, ARC, or Military Training Network), TNCC certification, a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including experience in Emergency Room (ER) or related settings. Knowledge of EPIC electronic medical record system within the past 12 months. Ability to float to other units/departments, with experience in charge responsibilities.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in an emergency holding or similar acute care environment preferred.
  • Additional Information: Position requires attending EPIC training during orientation. The unit has 6 inpatient beds and 6 universal beds, with an average daily census of 5 patients and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1. No call required, and every third weekend shifts are expected. The department employs a solid-colored scrubs dress code. Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate effective communication and critical thinking skills. The primary setting is acute care, with the flexibility to float to emergency room as needed.
