Job Summary:
The Emergency Room (ER) nurse position is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role involves providing urgent care services in a Level IV Trauma Center with a 228-bed general hospital setting. The ER handles a diverse patient population, from neonates to geriatrics, and requires experienced nurses capable of managing high patient acuity, including trauma, mental health, stroke, and cardiac cases. The position offers a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering quality emergency care.

Job Details:

  • Location: Milwaukee, WI
  • Schedule: Days shift; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Start Date: 08/10/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC certifications; minimum of 3 years of ED experience in a fast-paced facility; experience in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, critical care medication administration, TPA administration, blood administration, procedural sedation, and code blue response.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Triage experience is strongly preferred.
  • Responsibilities: Provide emergency care to diverse patient populations including complex trauma, mental health cases, stroke, and cardiac emergencies. Support may include blood draws, trauma assistance, and participating in a team-focused environment. The unit operates under EPIC charting system, with bedside telemetry monitoring.
  • Support on the Unit: Unit secretary available 24/7, ED Tech capable of blood draws and glucose checks, rare lower acuity assignments for charge nurses, and auxiliary staff including radiology, therapy, and security.
  • Orientation: Two 12-hour shifts on unit before starting independent assignments.
  • Floating: Not applicable.
  • Scheduling: Flexibility depending on requisition; every other weekend rotation; holiday coverage includes 2 out of 4 major holidays or every other.
  • Additional Information: Scrub colors are flexible for professionalism; free parking is available in designated employee areas.
